Role overview
Bookly is a multi-vendor service-booking platform for businesses such as salons, spas, home-service providers and consultants. We are seeking a Marketing Manager who can identify the right audiences, explain the product’s value and build a practical route from awareness to useful business adoption. You will combine research and positioning with hands-on campaign execution, working with social media, development and support to improve the experience of prospective users.
Responsibilities
- Research priority business segments, their booking problems, purchasing considerations and alternatives to define a focused marketing approach.
- Develop clear positioning, audience messages and campaign briefs that reflect the platform’s actual capabilities and pricing.
- Plan and coordinate acquisition, onboarding and retention activity across suitable channels, partnerships and product education.
- Improve the journey from an initial visit or enquiry to registration, setup and an active business booking page.
- Work on practical SEO, landing-page content, relevant partnerships and permission-based email or community campaigns.
- Coordinate the Social Media Manager and other contributors around shared objectives, consistent messaging and clear approvals.
- Set up proportionate measurement, review results and identify where enquiries, registrations or users drop out of the journey.
- Maintain an agreed marketing backlog, document experiments and recommend where the team should invest its available time and resources.
Required experience and skills
- Demonstrable experience planning and delivering marketing work for a digital product, business service, marketplace or comparable offering.
- The ability to turn customer research into clear segmentation, positioning, messages and practical campaign decisions.
- Strong written communication and the ability to prepare useful briefs, landing-page copy and stakeholder updates.
- Working knowledge of marketing funnels, SEO, analytics, attribution limitations and evaluating the quality of acquired users.
- Experience coordinating collaborators and delivering agreed priorities with limited resources and competing requests.
- Sound commercial judgment, including distinguishing activity and audience size from meaningful adoption and sustainable value.
- Understanding of consent, privacy, truthful claims and responsible outreach when handling contact lists and customer stories.
Useful additional experience
- Experience with SaaS, booking products, marketplaces or services used by small and growing businesses.
- Experience with B2B partnerships, product-led onboarding, lifecycle campaigns or marketing for appointment-based businesses.
- Familiarity with measuring conversion, retention and acquisition costs, and explaining when available data does not support a conclusion.
What we expect
- Agree an initial audience focus, value proposition and realistic sequence of marketing priorities with the team.
- Build a measurement plan covering relevant enquiries, registration, setup completion, active use and retention where data is available.
- Run documented experiments with clear hypotheses and review what worked, what failed and what should change next.
- Coordinate promotion with product readiness and support capacity, using approved budgets and obtaining approval before spending or commercial commitments.
Working arrangements
- The balance of strategy, execution, meetings and availability will be agreed in advance. The role requires ongoing collaboration and clear progress reporting.
- Marketing objectives and decision rights will be discussed alongside equity terms. Targets will be agreed from a realistic baseline rather than presented as guaranteed growth.
- Maintain organized business-owned plans, campaign assets and measurement notes so work can continue as the team grows.
How to apply
- Provide a concise summary of relevant work and describe a campaign or growth project you personally helped deliver.
- Explain the audience, your decisions, the measures used and the outcome, including any limitations in the evidence.
- Share suitable public examples or a portfolio, your availability and your interest in an equity-based opportunity. Protect confidential client information.
Compensation and important terms
- This is an equity-based opportunity with no starting salary. Compensation is intended to be an agreed share of the company. The share percentage, vesting, responsibilities, contribution expectations and other terms will be discussed and documented before engagement begins.
- Cash pay may be discussed as the business grows. Its timing and amount are not guaranteed. Applicants should consider whether an equity-based arrangement suits their circumstances and ask questions about the proposed terms before agreeing.
- There is no application fee, purchase or financial contribution required. Applications should contain professional information and work examples; do not include identity documents, bank details, passwords or confidential client material.
