Role overview
Bookly helps service businesses make their services easier to discover and book. We are looking for a Social Media Manager who can turn that practical value into clear, engaging content and constructive conversations. You will help build a recognizable voice for the platform, explain how it works and connect with business owners and customers. This role calls for creative judgment, consistent execution and a willingness to learn from evidence.
Responsibilities
- Develop an agreed social content plan that connects platform education, business-owner needs, useful tips and relevant celebrations.
- Create or coordinate captions, graphics, short videos, product demonstrations and stories suited to each selected channel.
- Maintain a realistic publishing calendar and organize drafts, approvals, source files and reusable brand assets.
- Respond to comments and messages professionally, identify useful feedback and route account, payment or security issues to the appropriate support process.
- Explain booking and business-management features accurately, checking product details before publishing demonstrations or promotional claims.
- Support genuine community relationships with service businesses, creators and relevant partners through respectful, agreed outreach.
- Track content performance and audience responses, summarize lessons and recommend practical changes to the content plan.
- Coordinate campaigns with the Marketing Manager and product team so public messages, promotions and customer expectations remain consistent.
Required experience and skills
- Demonstrable experience managing social channels for a business, product, community or comparable professional project.
- Strong writing and editing skills, sound visual judgment and the ability to make useful short-form content.
- Practical familiarity with social publishing tools, native analytics and the different formats used by selected channels.
- The ability to explain an unfamiliar digital product clearly to people with different levels of technical confidence.
- Good organization, dependable communication and a reliable process for deadlines, approvals and community responses.
- Understanding of permission-based communication, privacy and the responsible use of photographs, testimonials and other people’s work.
- Comfort reviewing results honestly, including content that underperforms, and adjusting plans without overstating the evidence.
Useful additional experience
- Experience with SaaS, marketplaces, booking platforms, beauty and wellness businesses or other appointment-based services.
- Skills in basic design, video editing, screen recording, accessible captions or preparing content for several formats.
- Experience maintaining a brand voice, moderating a community or coordinating creator and business partnerships.
What we expect
- Develop a clear audience and channel plan with content priorities that the team can deliver consistently.
- Make Bookly easier to understand through accurate demonstrations and helpful answers to common booking and onboarding questions.
- Report on relevant measures such as reach, meaningful engagement, useful enquiries and visits to agreed landing pages.
- Use agreed targets and budgets. Seek approval before paid promotions, commercial commitments or sharing sensitive customer information.
Working arrangements
- Publishing frequency, community-response coverage, review meetings and availability will be agreed together rather than assumed.
- The role will involve close coordination with marketing, support and development so content reflects the platform’s current capabilities.
- Account access will follow agreed permissions and security practices. Business-owned assets and documentation should remain organized for continuity.
How to apply
- Share links to relevant channels or campaigns and explain your own role in creating or managing them.
- Include a small selection of suitable writing, graphics or videos and a brief explanation of what you learned from their results.
- Summarize your availability, the tools you use and why an equity-based role interests you. Remove private client information from examples.
Compensation and important terms
- This is an equity-based opportunity with no starting salary. Compensation is intended to be an agreed share of the company. The share percentage, vesting, responsibilities, contribution expectations and other terms will be discussed and documented before engagement begins.
- Cash pay may be discussed as the business grows. Its timing and amount are not guaranteed. Applicants should consider whether an equity-based arrangement suits their circumstances and ask questions about the proposed terms before agreeing.
- There is no application fee, purchase or financial contribution required. Applications should contain professional information and work examples; do not include identity documents, bank details, passwords or confidential client material.
